Ms. Spence has graciously donated paintings of local scenes and landmarks to be sold during live and silent auctions for the benefit of The Loyola School General Scholarship Fund. Her paintings are examples of Plein Art – works painted on location at a particular day and time, whatever the conditions. She has painted outside on mild days that turned cold, on balmy days sitting on a grassy hill and just after snowfalls. You can see a small sample of Ms. Spence’s paintings at the bottom of this email.

The reception and art show will also feature a silent auction of one-of-a-kind creations by youngsters at our school.

Art is capturing a moment of time. A moment of one’s soul.
That is why every piece of art is different even if we are looking at the same model or the same still life or landscape. — Marty Spence
