The Loyola School’s overarching mission is to support and develop robust academic initiatives among Baltimore City children. The School offers a high-quality preschool and elementary school curriculum, characterized by individualized support for our students and by parent involvement.
Scholarships for every student
Generous benefactors and scholarship sponsors know that the MOST important time to invest in a child’s education is during early childhood. Many children from low-income families don’t have access to quality early education.
Sponsors’ investments over the course of a child’s three years in preschool and five years in elementary school make our model possible… and forever change the lives of students.
A unique place of learning focused on the whole child
Students benefit from consistent year-round structured learning, quality teachers, small class sizes, individual and small-group instruction, learning assessments and an engaging experiential program.
Focus is on the holistic development of each child—promoting physical, emotional, cognitive, creative, social, cultural and spiritual growth so that each child has the skills needed to be successful in elementary school and beyond.
Parent Engagement: A Collective Approach to Education
To raise children who are ready to meet life’s challenges and become “persons for others” requires many people. To that end, families volunteer at the school, attend education workshops, contribute monthly and take an active role in their children’s education.
Teachers collaborate with families, respecting each family’s culture and values. That understanding informs the development of culturally responsive learning experiences.
“I chose to send my daughter to TLS after seeing how this school is a community that truly cares about each individual child. I am so thankful to be able to give my daughter the best opportunity to jump-start her education—something I wouldn’t have been able to afford without TLS!”
