New President To Be Installed

The Loyola School is installing its second president, James D. Fiore, September 18.

The Presidential Installation will be at 9 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. The ceremony will include The Celebration of the Holy Spirit.

Fiore assumed the school presidency in March, succeeding the Rev. William J. Watters, S.J., founder and first president of The Loyola School. Opened eight years ago with 18 preschool students, the school enrolls 121 students in PreK-2 through third grade in 2024-2025. TLS is an independent, full-scholarship, Jesuit Catholic school for Baltimore City children from families of limited financial means.

Before becoming TLS president, Fiore was chief operating officer of Next One Up, a nonprofit that focuses on mentorship and on the academic, social and athletic development of young men in Baltimore City. He was also a teacher, coach and graduate support director at St. Ignatius Loyola Academy, the Jesuit middle school in Federal Hill, also founded by Watters.

The installation ceremonies are open to the public at the church, 740 N. Calvert St.
